Frequently Asked Questions

Should I come to Blossom Brides first, or wait?

The more you are able to be specific regarding the style of gown you are looking for, the better we can focus your appointment onto the dresses that are going to be absolutely perfect for you.  We recommend visiting just one or two other salons before scheduling your first appointment at Blossom in order to get the most out of your time with us!

What is the price range in your salon?

The average bridal gown in our salon costs between $1,800 and $2,500, although there are some gowns as low as $1,200 and some as high as $4,000.  We also have sample sale bridal gowns that are reduced 30% - 60% off their original prices!

I am looking for a particular style. Do you have it?

We are always happy to check for you! You may call 516-678-0888, or email with any specific style inquiries.

Can I purchase a gown I see on your website?

We can order you any gown that you see on our website.  In addition, we are able to order you any gown offered from our designers. Please call us at 516-678-0888 for more information.  We do not accept orders online.

Do you offer a cap on alterations?

For gowns purchased in the salon, we offer a set price of $600 on alterations for special order bridal gowns and $700 for sample sale bridal gowns.  This cost includes everything necessary to get the gown (as it comes from the manufacturer) ready to walk down the aisle, including - but not limited to - letting the gown in or out, a hem and the creation of a bustle.  Custom changes and delicate care fabrics are additional, and there are also some optional add-on packages.

Do you accept outside alterations?

As long as our seamstress is able to accommodate the time frame of your event into her current schedule, we are proud to offer alteration services for any special occasion and formal wear, no matter where it was purchased.  Simply call Dalia in her private studio in Oceanside to schedule a consultation appointment at 516-764-1489.

Do you sell mother-of-the-bride dresses?

We do sell Mother of the Bride and Groom dresses! Currently we feature gowns by both Jovani and Pollardi Fashions.

How far in advance should I begin shopping for my bridal gown?

We recommend that brides begin shopping ten to twelve months in advance of their wedding, with the goal that the bride be ready to purchase her gown at least eight months in advance.

Do I have to pay in full for my gown when I purchase it?

We prefer in-full payments for all purchases from our salon.  However, we do understand that this might not be possible at all times; we therefore accept a 70% deposit on all purchases in the form of any credit card, cash or check. Please note that credit or debit card purchases incur a 3.95% service fee.

Do you offer cleaning and preservation services?

We do offer Cleaning and Preservation Services!  Just bring your gown and any accessories you want preserved in and we will be happy to set everything up.  Please note that this service can take anywhere from four to twelve weeks depending on the time of year.
